About XCO | Co-creation creative collective

XCO creative community culture service film music production

We create. That’s what we do, that’s what we love. We are a non-profit creative collective who put community first through co-creation, creating projects and campaigns through the mediums of documentary, film, music programming, commercial, brand partnership, virtual, augmented and mixed realities, digital experience, experiential installation, graphic and interactive design.

But really, we like to work between the lines.

We are all about creation, community and culture. We are the breeding grounds for imagination and innovation. Where art meets purpose, people coming together to share ideas and shape the future. We reinvest in local causes, supporting emerging talent, creating positive futures.

Deeply influenced by the power of plants, animals and natural elements, the Shipibo are an indigenous community in the Amazon Rainforest of Peru, who are fighting to protect their culture and maintain their ancestral knowledge, despite years of invasion and colonisation.

This is a story we are all too familiar with — an indigenous community breaking down and now their knowledge and traditions threatened. But their culture is far from gone, the Shipibo are a very resilient community and through years of colonisation and conflict, they still stand strong, united to protect their knowledge and the environment that has served them for millennia.

This documentary will help the Shipibo people by stimulating a more conscious and direct economic growth to local people, and help support cultural and educational programmes that have been created by the family featured in the documentary. Awareness of their mission will help preserve and protect the people and the land they live on.

Covid-19: Stuck In Peru

Documentary │ Post-Production

Covid-19 Title Image.jpg

Covid-19 has impacted every individual on the planet, country's brought to their knees, crippling economies. Whilst on our latest adventure to Peru, to film for the latest installment of the Onanya Documentary, we got caught in Peru's military-controlled quarantine.

During this time we used the opportunity to follow the journey of British and US tourists staying in the Amazon Jungle, defying all the odds to find their way home and make the limited repatriation flights taking off from Peru's capital Lima.

Peru is a country that has been deeply affected by Covid-19, health care is minimal, no oxygen tanks, ICU beds or doctors to help. It has cripple their way of life, their economy has hit hard, schools shut until 2021 with no alternative methods of education. They see the virus as certain death. Lower economic countries are being hit hardest and little support is out there for them.

Shipibo community

Video Production │ Community Support

For the last few years, we have supported the Shipibo community, to help protect and preserve their knowledge and traditions. An Amazonian tribe that has stood the test of time. Whether it’s rubber barons enslaving their people, governments taking their land. The Shipibo are an indigenous community from the Amazon Basin of Peru. They have a unique culture, particularly for their designs, language and shamans. Shipibo shamans hold thousands of years knowledge, past down by their ancestors.

XCO have been help raising awareness of their cause and supporting the development of the local projects, generating funds to build homes, teaching English to local children. We will continue to support their projects and campaigns to help grow the Shipibo community.
